EST. 1947
Glenview’s barbershop since before the mall was here.
We have been on Waukegan Road since 1947. Walk in, sit down, and let somebody who has done this ten thousand times decide where the line goes. Men, women and kids. Seven days a week.

What happens in the chair
Four things, every time.
Nobody here is going to ask what number guard you want and then look at their phone. This is our order of operations, and it has not changed much since Truman.
The Read
Before anything switches on we look at how your hair actually grows. The cowlick, the crown, where it wants to sit. That is the difference between a cut that works for three weeks and one that works for four days.
The Cut
Scissor or clipper, fade or taper, long or buzzed to the wood. Same chair for a fourteen-year-old’s first fade and a regular who has been coming to us since the Reagan administration.
The Detail
Eyebrows, ear hair, the back of the neck. It is the step most places skip. It is also the thing our customers mention most.
The Finish
Line checked in the mirror, neck cleaned up, chair spun round so you can see the back before you stand up. Then you are back out on Waukegan.
On the glass
Hair. Shave.
Beard trim. Wax & thread.
That is what is painted on our front window. Here is the whole list.
The Chair
The Razor & The Extras
We keep our prices posted inside. Call and we will tell you in about ten seconds. No appointment, no deposit, no account. Walk in whenever you are ready.
Call (847) 730-3384The room
Glass block, red chairs,
pressed-tin ceiling.
Every station has its own glass-block wall, so a haircut here is a conversation with one person rather than a room. White subway tile, warm porcelain floor with a gold inlay, a red drum lamp over the bench, and a basket of candy by the door for whoever is waiting.
Who is behind the chair
Ask for a name.
Our customers do not write “great barbershop.” They write down who cut their hair. Ask for a name at the door and you will get the same hands every time.
Vicky
“Vicky and her Barber Team are absolutely the best. Extremely professional, skilled and friendly. I usually do a walk-in and can get a cut within 0–10 mins. The barbers spend the extra time to trim eyebrows, ear hair, etc.”Tim Schmitt · Google Local Guide
Nina
“Nina did a great job cutting hair, and shaving, all while conversing in a fun conversation.”Mateus · Google review
Zeina
“I have had several haircuts from Zeina and I am extremely happy with the work she does.”Charles Laurito · Google review
Vivienne
“Took my 11 year old daughter to Vivienne and she did a great job on her hair cut … and I was in and out!”Lindsey Watson · Google review

The questions
we get asked most.
Do I need an appointment at Jerry’s Barbershop?
No. We are a walk-in shop. There is no booking app, no account and no deposit. Most people are in a chair within ten minutes. Saturday mornings are our busiest stretch if you would rather avoid a wait.
How much is a haircut at Jerry’s?
We keep our prices posted inside. Call (847) 730-3384 and we will tell you straight away.
Do you cut women’s and children’s hair?
Yes. It says so on our front window: Men, Women, Kids. Kids’ cuts come up again and again in our reviews, and there is a basket of candy by the door for whoever is waiting their turn.
Are you open on Sunday?
Yes. We are open seven days a week. Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am, Sunday from 9:00 am, closing at 6:00 pm every day. Sunday is one of our quieter days.
Do you do beard trims and straight razor shaves?
Both. Beard trim, beard lining, shave, straight razor shave and head shave are all on the menu. Shave and beard trim are painted on our front window, and they are two of the things our customers mention most.
Where exactly is Jerry’s Barbershop in Glenview?
We are at 2200 Waukegan Rd, Glenview, IL 60025, in Mansard Square where Waukegan Road meets Winnetka Road, a couple of minutes north of the Valley Lodge. There is a free lot right in front. Look for the barber pole and the red and white banner.
How long has Jerry’s been in Glenview?
Since 1947. It is on the sign above our door and on the badge in the window. That is seventy-nine years of cutting hair on the same road.
Can I ask for a specific barber?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Ask for Vicky, Nina, Zeina or Vivienne by name, or just say who cut your hair last time, and we will put you back in that chair.
No app. No account. No appointment.
